1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to external servers. All data created or used within the App remains locally on your device. The App may access the following features on your phone:

• Camera — used only for scanning food barcodes and recording or uploading personal workout videos; camera data is processed locally and never uploaded or analyzed on external servers.
• Videos and media — any videos you record or upload are stored only on your device and are never uploaded, shared, or backed up by us.
• Workout, nutrition, and checklist data — logs, entries, checklists, and personal records are stored locally on your phone; we do not have access to this data.

2. Barcode Scanning and Third-Party Services

The App uses the Open Food Facts database (world.openfoodfacts.org) to retrieve nutritional information when you scan a barcode. Only the barcode number is used to look up food data; no personal information is sent to Open Food Facts. We do not control how Open Food Facts handles their data — please review their privacy policy.

3. Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device. If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently removed. We do not use cloud storage, analytics, or remote databases.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data, share your data, or transmit your data to third parties (except for barcode lookups as described above).

5. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no intentional collection of children’s data.

6. Security

Because all data remains on your device, security depends on your device’s built-in protections (such as passcodes, biometrics, and operating system security).

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the App or on the App Store listing.

Personal Fitness Log is licensed, not sold, to you. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store terms.

Personal Fitness Log is provided for informational and tracking purposes only.

• The App is not a medical device.
• The App does not provide medical, health, or nutritional advice.
• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any exercise or nutrition program.

You use the App at your own risk.

3. User Content

You may create and store content in the App (workout logs, nutrition entries, checklists, photos or videos). All content is stored locally on your device only — we do not access, collect, store, or transmit your content. You retain full ownership and responsibility for all content you create.

4. Camera and Device Permissions

The App may request access to your camera (for barcode scanning and recording videos). Permissions can be managed through your device settings; some features may not function if permissions are disabled.

5. Barcode Scanning and Third-Party Data

The App uses third-party food databases, including Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org). Food and nutrition data is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party data and are not responsible for errors or omissions from third-party sources.

6. Data Storage and Loss

All App data is stored locally on your device. We do not provide cloud storage or backups, and deleting the App will permanently delete all associated data. You are responsible for backing up your device if you wish to preserve your data.

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App, including its design, text, graphics, and software, are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or reverse engineer the App except as permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injuries, health issues, data loss, or damages resulting from use of the App, and we make no warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or availability. The App is provided “as is” and “as available.”

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if you violate these Terms. You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, excluding conflict of law rules.
